Our history

The project's idea was born to enhance the commercial activities of Casale Monferrato, which have been active on the market for more than 40 years.

The “Botteghe Storiche” (Historical Shops) Association has designed and built a diamond-shaped structures to represent the Historical Shops. Metaphorically, they possess the same characteristic as this material: purity and simplicity combined with tenacious resistance and a great value, unchanged over time. That symbolizes the capability to resist over time and preserve the traditions of the territory.

The diamonds are made of metal to symbolize the union between the ancient craft of manual iron working and the most modern technologies..
The strong contrast between ancient and modern, between tradition and technology, is ideal for highlighting one of the best qualities of these activities: the capability to renew and reinvent themselves over time, continuing to offer their customers the good traditions of all time, along with the latest innovations.

Between the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016, a roundabout dedicated to the association was inaugurated, located on the “Po - Gramsci” river, at the crossroads with Viale Marconi.
The markets, organized by Mara Laura, president of the Historical Shops Association, take place in the “Teatro Municipale” (Municipal Theatre) area, in the square that leads to the main entrance of the Castle and the “Po” river. They are designed to support the central shopping area of the city. They attract flows of people, which maintain vitality, promoting collective identity, historical memory and the sense of belonging.

On 6 December 2022, the association celebrated its 10 years activity, in front of many friends and supporters with the toast of the municipal councillors.
